Mother’s Day 2025, 2026 and 2027
Mother’s Day was first observed in Germany in 1922, though it did not become an official observance until 1983. It is celebrated every second Sunday of May. If that date falls on Pentecost, however, it is moved to the first Sunday of the month.

Wearing a red carnation to honour Mum or a white one to honour a Mum who has passed away is tradition. And giving gifts, cards, and a meal cooked for her by her children are other common ways to celebrate.
